Chris BasurtoThe reasons the offense will likely take a step forward is because they don't have nothing but rookies at WR like last year. Everyone had a year at least in the system. In some cases a few now. Plus Nick Martin will start. Plus Donta Foreman. Deshaun Watson gives them the best chance to win but I'm willing to let him sit for the learning process. Savage will probably be severely average but those other things should be going good for him. Until they feel Watson is ready to take over.

Nathan ChampionReasons why Watson shouldn't start. #1: the Oline is rebuilding. There are many rookies and Duane brown isn't even practicing. #2: the playbook is complicated. Not to mention the plays are now called by Bill and Romeo. #3: the NFL is nothing like college. It doesn't really matter how great Watson was in college, it doesn't mean he will do great in the NFL. Remember RG3 and manziel? Of course, he might be like Prescott, but there's no guarantee.

Tony AlvaradoWatson is our future. We can win the first couple games with Savage or Watson. I say throw Watson in and get him greased up. The patriots will always be a problem but with Watt back and a decent QB finally I think we can get the job done. If not I see Watson taking over week 4 and prob halfway thru game 3. Savage is not poise under pressure what so ever. Watch savage VS the Bengals. Dude gets eaten alive and it's hard to watch. Watson won't crumble under pressure. He's known for his poise.

4 days ago   ·  1
Avatar

Dave HowardHe'll say the correct thing, of course, but he's right that Watson is a rookie and this is a complex offense. Remember that he said Brock Osweiler was a great leader too. O'Brien coaches his players well at giving interviews.

Avatar

Chris BasurtoThat's all good but I'm sure he understands that Savage will eventually be replaced. Being supportive of his teammates is a good idea. I'm sorry but for all those feeling Tom has talent are correct. It's just that he has no ability to be mobile, he holds onto the ball, takes hits, gets sacked, stairs down a WR. His intangibles are not up to the elite level. But he has a great arm. Which some fans seem to think is all you need.

4 days ago   ·  1

John Michael LookadooY'all hating on savage a lil much...Watson isn't guaranteed a successful QB. You should root for both of them to be successful...means we can trade on for talent

Contesta WinnaWhen will everyone get it that Houston will NEVER have a QB that works with O'Brien? 9 starters in three years makes for a horrendous coach. Never been the QB's fault...always O'Brien's and until he's finally fired it will be the same old thing. As for Hopkins...until he stops making mistakes it will be the same old story for him too. He runs the wrong routes, he can only turn in one direction, lets the defense take the ball right out of his hands, and he can't defend the ball to save his life. Same old...same old in Houston. The best thing Houston did for Osweiler was trade him! Sorry Savage!
